Lynden tops rival LC in match-play championships

Lynden's boys' golf team won 5-1 over Lynden Christian in the annual match play championships on Thursday, April 17, at Homestead Golf Course.

Ezra Arnerson defeated Lincoln Olson 1-up in the "match of the day." Arneson shot a 1-under par 71 and Olson shot a one-over 73.

"It was terrible conditions on a hard golf course," Lynden coach Russ Dorr said in a phone interview. "It was hard work on both teams. It was really tough going. It got windy and wet. There was lots of pars. There was lots of great golf. Both teams brought out the best in each other. It just happened to go our way this year."

Alex Crabtree, Terry Olson, Noah King and Colin Barclay were the Lions other winners.
