Nooksack Valley's boys' soccer team scored four goals in the second half to top Ferndale 5-0 on Thursday, April 17, at Ferndale High School.

The Pioneers' Jorge Perez scored in the second minute to kick off the scoring, but didn't net another goal in the first half.

"We were very pleased with our first half play," Ferndale coach Scott Browne said in a phone interview. "We had to bring some guys up and they handled their own for awhile. I'm proud of the way they played."

The second half didn't go so well for Ferndale. The Golden Eagles allowed two goals to William Kingma, one to Kyle Macy and one to Luis Garcia.

"They had good pressure," Browne said. "We still got to get on the board."

Nooksack (3-5-2, 2-3-2 NWC) plays Friday Harbor on Friday, April 18, at Nooksack Valley Elementary School. Ferndale (0-10-1, 0-6-1 NWC) plays Lynden Christian on Monday, April 21, at Bender Fields
