Parris scores two in Lynden's 4-0 win


Lynden's boys' soccer team rolled to a 4-0 win over Mount Baker in a Northwest Conference match on Thursday, April 17, at Bender Fields.

"We've been playing well," Lynden coach Drew Smiley said in a phone interview. "We've been a little unlucky the past few games, but all the goals came through today."

The Lions got on the board in the 20th minute with a goal from Alex Otano-Guenther, who would later add an assist. Nicolas Parris made it 2-0 before the half.

Following the break, Rudy Mendoza picked up a goal before Nicolas Parris scored his second of the game in the 70th minute.

"Nick (Parris) definitely stood out," Smiley said. "He finally got the monkey off his back. He's been so unlucky the last few games."

Lynden (3-5-3, 2-3-2 NWC) faces Lynden Christian on Wednesday, April 23, at Bender Fields. Mount Baker (5-6-0, 4-3-0 NWC) plays Burlington-Edison on Monday, April 21, at home.
