3 Bellingham golfers place in top 5 in win


Cody Roth shot a 70 to capture medalist honors for Bellingham and led his boys' golf team to a first place finish with a 375 on Tuesday, April 15, at Swinomish Golf Course. The Red Raiders' Nick Nolan and Taylor Paul tied with two other golfers for second with a 74.

"Cody played extremely well," Bellingham coach Dave Bobillot said in a phone interview. "He was solid, as was the entire team. I think they came close to the school record today. I was very happy for our guys."

Lynden took third with a 405, Sehome was fourth with 445 points and Meridian finished sixth with 449.

Ezra Arneson led the Lions with a 74. Thomas Mankle led the Mariners with an 83 and the Trojans' Joel Eschbach had an 88 to lead his team.
