Kamena scores for Lyncs in 5-1 loss

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDApril 15, 2014

Lynden Christian's boys' soccer team couldn't survive an onslaught of goals from Anacortes and took a 5-1 Northwest Conference loss on Tuesday, April 15, at Anacortes.

Trevor Kamena had the Lyncs' goal on a 29th-minute penalty kick that found the right corner of the net, just under Dane Lukasik's outstretched hand.

Gunnar Ronntren had two goals for Anacortes.

"We just got beat by a better team today," Lynden Christian coach Brent De Ruyter said in a phone interview. "They controlled the pace and really passed well. We had trouble with their speed and got ourselves in a big hole."

Lynden Christian looks to bounce back against Ferndale at 4:30 p.m. Monday, April 21, at Bender Fields.
