Mariners roll through Storm

Sehome's softball team scored 11 runs in the second inning and cruised to a 17-2 win in four innings over Squalicum in a Northwest Conference game on Tuesday, April 15, at Sehome.

The Mariners quickly put the Storm away behind Jenny McIntyre's three runs and two stolen bases and Gabby Gorosave's two runs and three RBI.

Squalicum's Hailey Linville went 2 for 2 with an RBI.

"They're a team that's struggling," Sehome coach Jim Emerson said in a phone interview about the Storm. "They're learning. I think they're progressing."

Mallory Kruzich got the win for Sehome, striking out six in three innings.

"She came out and did what she had to do," Emerson said.

Sehome (3-6, 3-1 NWC) faces Ferndale on Thursday, April 17, at home. Squalicum (0-9, 0-2 NWC) plays Lynden on Thursday at home.
