Western Washington University placed fourth among nine teams at the abbreviated Tarleton State University Doc Housewright Women's Golf Invitational Tournament held Tuesday at the Harbor Lakes Golf Club.
Monday's round was canceled because of cold and windy weather conditions.
Host Tarleton State shot a 7-under par 281 to win the one-round tourney. Dallas Baptist was second, eight shots back at 289. St. Edward's TX was third at 294, followed by WWU at 304 in the nine-team field.
Kristen Hansen led the Vikings, shooting a 1-over par 73 to finish in a seven-way tie for eighth.
WWU's Anna Bourland and Brooke Branigan tied for 20th, each shooting 76. Emily Koryto tied for 28th with a 79 and Audrew Orem tied for 45th with an 84.
Tarleton State placed one-two in medalist play, Beatriz Prados winning at 5-under 67, two shots better than teammate Jessica Pickwick (69).
WWU competes in the third annual Great Northwest Athletic Conference Championships on Apr. 21-22 at Coeur d'Alene, Id. The Vikings have won the first two conference titles.
