Bellingham's Trans-Ocean hires president, vice president

Trans-Ocean Products Inc., a surimi seafood producer based in Bellingham, has named Murry R. Park president and Itaru Kawada executive vice president.

In this new position, Park plans to continue to build the company's surimi seafood category and also expand its salmon and shrimp product lines, according to a company press release. Park has served as vice president and general manager at Trans-Ocean since 2012.

Kawada previously worked as vice president of operations at Westward Seafoods in Dutch Harbor, Alaska. 

The company sells its product under the Crab Classic brand name as well as some private labels. In Bellingham the company employs 231 people (187 full-time) in Bellingham.
