BELLINGHAM - With a major remodel now complete, the Bellingham Denny's reopened on Tuesday, April 15.

The restaurant on the corner of Meridian Street and Telegraph Road had been closed for eight days to completely renovate the customer area. That included putting in new booths, carpet, tile and updating the bathrooms, said Josh Metcalf, the restaurant's manager.

Metcalf said a Denny's restaurant is typically remodeled every seven years, but the Bellingham spot was overdue. He believes the last remodel was done in 1999.

The restaurant is also under new ownership, having recently been taken over by Ajay Keshap. The general manager is Jennifer Medici.

The Bellingham Denny's has been at that spot for nearly 30 years, Metcalf said, and has a strong regular customer base as well as regular visits from Canadian travelers.

The restaurant plans to have a grand reopening celebration next month that will include prizes and some meal and milkshake giveaways. Details about the exact date of the celebration will be on the Bellingham Denny's Facebook page.
