Bellingham duo go 1-2 at Burlington-Edison Invite


Bellingham's Jenn Paul took medalist honors with a 76 and Maddi McNeely was second overall with a 78, leading their girls' golf team to a second place finish at the Burlington-Edison Invite on Monday, April 14, at Skagit Golf and Country Club.

The Red Raiders were second with a score of 375, while Kamiak took first overall with a 369.

"Everyone knows we have two top players, its just a matter of No. 3 through No. 6 gaining experience to make a state run," Bellingham coach Brad McKay said in a phone interview. "We won the last two Burlington-Edison Invites, so to take second was a pretty good showing."

Squalicum was sixth with a 426, Mount Baker took 14th with a 469 and Ferndale was 21st with a 558. Lynden and Sehome also participated.

Maddi Atwood-Knutson led the Storm with a 93, and Mount Baker's Asia Roman shot a 112. Ferndale was led by Annie Jane-Burns' 132. Emily Ming shot an 89 for Lynden and Hanna Peterson shot a 119 for Sehome.
