Ferndale's offense supports Maley's pitching in win

Ferndale's Lauren Maley struck out eight and led her softball team to a 10-6 win over Sedro-Woolley on Monday, April 14, at home. Maley helped her own case on offense, going 2 for 3 with three RBI.

Kadence Kane was 2 for 2 with a home run, two RBI and two walks for the Golden Eagles. Sydney Shawler added to the offensive outburst, going 1 for 4 with three RBI.

"Sedro-Woolley didn't lay down, they're a tough team," Ferndale coach Holly Hilton said in a phone interview. "It was a good offensive day, especially considering we had to overcome some goof-ups. Defensively we had some missed plays and it didn't bother us. It tells me if we are firing on all cylinders we will be tough to beat."

Ferndale takes on Sehome at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 17, at Frank Geri Fields.
