BELLINGHAM - A woman faces a felony assault charge after kicking a half-gallon jug of "spoiled liquid" at a police officer Saturday, April 12, police said.
Police responded around 9:30 p.m. to a report of a woman yelling and breaking things in her room at the Villa Inn, 212 N. Samish Way.
Laurel Rebecca Webber, 42, had blocked the door with a chair when police arrived. She told them through the door she was going to shoot them, Sgt. Jason Monson said.
When police forced their way into the room, Webber was crawling out the bathroom window. Police caught up to her outside. As they were walking to the patrol car, Webber noticed a half-gallon bottle full of liquid and kicked it at an officer, soaking his uniform, Monson said. Police aren't sure what the liquid was. The officer left to take a shower.
She was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault on a police officer, third-degree malicious mischief, disorderly conduct, violation of a domestic violence protection order and a warrant for failing to appear for a hearing in Sumas Municipal Court.
