Everson boy in critical condition after being struck by semi

EVERSON - The 3-year-old boy struck by a semi truck Saturday, April 12, remained in critical condition in the intensive care unit of Harborview Medical Center in Seattle as of 9:30 a.m. Monday.

Cesar Camacho was hit by the westbound semi around 5:20 p.m. Saturday where Everson Road turns into Kale Street, according to Washington State Patrol.

The boy was running across the street from his grandmother toward his mother when the semi, hauling a load of plywood, struck and injured him, Trooper Mark Francis said. He was taken originally to St. Joseph hospital with critical injuries.

There were no indications the driver, Parminder Rangdhu, 44, of Abbotsford, B.C., was under the influence of drugs or alcohol, Francis said. It is not expected that any criminal charges will be filed.

The speed limit in that area is 35 mph.
