THE BELLINGHAM HERALDApril 11, 2014

Bellingham's girls' tennis team battled to a 5-2 victory over Anacortes in a Northwest Conference game on Friday, April 11, at Anacortes.

"I like how we played," Bellingham coach Steve Chronister said in a phone interview. "When we got beat, we got beat. It wasn't our fault, we played hard and tough."

Mariah Miller's win at No. 2 singles was signaled by Chronister as one of her best performances of the season.

"She played a great match. She beat a good player and with a good score," Chronister said.

Oriana LoCicero also played an excellent match, Chronister said. Keri Brauner and Tess Owen impressed again at No. 2 doubles.

"Brauner and Owen continue to play great for us," he said.

Bellingham moves to 7-1 on the year. The Red Raiders face Squalicum on Monday, April 14, at Squalicum
