Can you get a home in Vancouver BC for under $600,000? Not likely

Here's a (link) to an article that's a reminder to me how wild the real estate market is in Vancouver, B.C.

The Province article is about how the era of buying a $599,000 house in Vancouver is now over. Housing prices are now so high that it appears unlikely someone can get a detached house for that price or lower anywhere in the city.

The article goes on to describe what some experts think is the last house to sell for under $600,000 - a 600-square-foot place that has a pending offer.

After a brief slowdown last year, home prices are apparently on the rise again in British Columbia.

In comparison the median price for Whatcom County houses last year, was just under $260,000.
