Bellingham dominates golf event


Bellingham's boys' golf team dominated the competition on Thursday, April 10, at North Bellingham Golf Course. The Red Raiders had the top three finishers and topped second-place Mount Baker by 32 strokes, finishing with a team score of 402.

Squalicum took third with a 438, Ferndale finished fourth with a 448 and Meridian placed fifth with 492.

Nick Nolan finished with a 73 to take top individual honors. Cody Roth shot a 74 and Taylor Paul took a 79 to round out the all-Bellingham top three.

"We played really well," Bellingham coach David Bobillot said in a phone interview.

Dennis Kashubin had an 81 to lead the Mountaineers. Tavo O'Connel finished highest for the Storm with an 81. Daniel Erickson topped Ferndale with an 85 and Meridian's top finisher was Nick Rautenberg with an 85.
