Lyncs can't score in loss

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDApril 10, 2014

Lynden Christian's boys' soccer team couldn't find the back of the net and it cost the Lyncs in a 3-0 loss to Burlington-Edison on Thursday, April 10, at Bender Fields.

The Lyncs kept up in shots, recording 10 to the Tigers' 11. But the Lyncs hit the post on one try and missed an open net just before half.

"Burlington was able to capitalize on mistakes and we were not. They were opportunistic," LC coach Brent De Ruyter said in a phone interview.

Midfielders Cody Fransen and Trevor Kamena had good games distributing the ball in the middle and creating opportunities, De Ruyter said.

"We just couldn't mount anything beyond that," he said.

LC plays Nooksack Valley on Saturday, April 12, at Bender Fields.
