Bellingham rolls through Ferndale

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDApril 10, 2014

Bellingham's girls' tennis team showed its strengths in a 7-0 win over Ferndale on Thursday, April 10, at Ferndale High School.

"They're an older team, an upper-class team and they're very well coached," Ferndale coach Ed Sweitzer said in a phone interview. "Ferndale's team is young and still growing and they just took us behind the wood shed."

Ferndale did show improvement in each of the second sets, but every match only went two sets.

"Every match was pretty decisive," Sweitzer said. "The good thing about Ferndale's team today is they improved as the matches went on."

Bellingham plays Anacortes on Friday, April 11, at Anacortes. Ferndale faces Sedro-Woolley on Monday, April 14, at Ferndale.
