Cubs' 13-run inning dooms Sehome softball

Sehome's softball team seemed to be set for a big win over Sedro-Woolley before a 13-run fifth inning gave the Cubs a 14-9 victory on Thursday, April 10, at Frank Geri Fields.

"We had three of our four errors in that inning," Sehome coach Jim Emerson said in a phone interview. "Mallory (Kruzich) gave up some tough walks and they opened the floodgates. Otherwise Mallory shut them down the other six."

The Cubs had eight of their 13 hits in the fifth inning.

Gabby Gorsave led the Mariners' offense, hitting a perfect 4 for 4 with two runs scored, six RBI, a double and a home run.

Sehome will look to bounce back against Anacortes at 6 p.m. Friday, April 11, at Daniels Field.
