Phillips 66 donates to Oso relief effort

Phillips 66 has made a significant donation to the disaster relief efforts in Oso.

The company, which operates a refinery in Ferndale, donated $100,000 to the American Red Cross for families displaced by the mudslide last month. In addition, the company will match employee and retiree contributions to the Red Cross and its Mt. Baker chapter, which has been providing disaster relief support in Oso for the past few weeks.

"Some of our employees have served as Red Cross volunteers in the past and understand what an important role the Red Cross plays in disaster relief," Ferndale Refinery Manager Marjorie Hatter said in a news release.
