Parson and Murphy shine for Pioneers

Nooksack Valley's girls' track and field team fell to Anacortes 88-52 on Wednesday, April 9, at Nooksack Valley High School.

Alex Parson and Amy Jo Murphy each had two individual wins, with Parson taking home wins in the 100 (13.82 seconds) and 200 (28.30), and Murphy taking home victories in the 1,600 (5:46.10) and 3,200 (13.54.50). Both Murphy and Parson were also on the winning 4x400 relay team, along with Jessie Jose and Pearl Morris.

Delaney Cop and Michaela Yonkman were the only other Pioneers to take home wins, with Cop claiming the javelin with a toss of 89 feet, 4 inches, and Yonkman winning the 100 hurdles with a time of 18.07.
