Handy's homer highlight in Nooksack loss

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDApril 9, 2014

Nooksack Valley's baseball team battled but eventually fell to Sedro-Woolley 10-4 on Wednesday, April 9, at Nooksack Valley.

"It was one of the games where the score didn't reflect the game," Nooksack coach Scott Gelwicks said in a phone interview. "We didn't play as sharp as we could have. There are some things to learn."

Dalton Biehle got the loss pitching 4 2/3 innings. Curtis Handy came in relief and pitched 2 1/3.

Curtis Handy's home run was the highlight for the Pioneers.

"He hit the ball really well today," Gelwicks said. "It was a beautiful home run, a no doubter. He's a strong kid capable of hitting the ball hard."

Nooksack plays against Meridian on Friday, April 11, at home.
