Cooke leads Red Raiders to shutout win

Five Mount Baker errors and Bobby Cooke's complete game helped Bellingham's baseball team defeat Baker 4-0 on Wednesday, April 9, at Mount Baker.

Cooke threw four strikeouts, walked two and hit three batters over seven innings for the Red Raiders. He pitched Bellingham out of three jams and kept the Mountaineers off the scoreboard, Mount Baker coach Quinn LeSage said in a phone interview.

"We definitely had our chances, but he did a good job and made the big pitches when he needed to," LeSage said.

Nate Pearsall was 2 for 4 with an RBI and Cooke went 2 for 5 with an RBI for Bellingham.

Carson Schmidt was 2 for 3 for Mount Baker.

Bellingham plays next at 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 11, at home against Lynden. Mount Baker plays Ferndale at 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 11, at home.
