Russian pianist to perform for scholarship benefit at WWU

The William Sanford Scholarship Piano Recital presents Sergey Kuznetsov, who is flying in from Russia to perform, at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at Western Washington University's Performing Arts Center Concert Hall.

The William Sanford Scholarship Piano Recital presents Sergey Kuznetsov, who is flying in from Russia to perform, at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at Western Washington University's Performing Arts Center Concert Hall.

Ticket proceeds will benefit the William Sanford Piano scholarship, offered to outstanding new piano students at the undergraduate or graduate level.

The concert program includes works by Muzio Clementi, Alexander Scriabin and Robert Schumann. Tickets are $16 adults, $13 seniors and $9 students, at tickets.wwu.edu and 360-650-6146.

A graduate of the Tchaikovsky Conservatoire, Vienna University of Music and Moscow Conservatory, Kuznetsov has been teaching at the Moscow Conservatory since 2006. He will host a free master class for pianists at noon Friday, April 11, at the PAC. Details: 360-650-7640.
