Squalicum, Friday Harbor battle to tie

The Squalicum and Friday Harbor baseball teams battled to a rare 1-1 tie on Tuesday, April 8, at Squalicum High School in a non-league matchup. The game went five innings, and was called due to the field being in unplayable condition.

Sophomore starter Ben Wolters threw five innings, allowing five hits and striking out four. He picked up the no decision after giving up a run in the first inning to Friday Harbor.

"He got out of a couple bases-loaded jams, and really pitched smart," Storm coach John Inge said in a phone interview.

David Stealy picked up Squalicum's only RBI after driving in Kyle Little in the fourth inning.

"Two well-pitched sides," Inge said. "Would have been nice to finish it, though."
