South Whatcom library grand opening set for April 12

SUDDEN VALLEY - The newest library in the Whatcom County Library System will have its grand opening celebration Saturday, April 12.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony, refreshments and opening remarks to celebrate the 6,500-square-foot South Whatcom County Library are set for 10 a.m. at 8 Barn View Court in Sudden Valley, Gate 2.

Events and programs for all ages will occur throughout the day, including a family story time at 11 a.m., the Bellingham Ukulele Group at 12:30 p.m., a juggler at 2 and a marionette show at 4. The library closes at 5 p.m.

The nonprofit Friends of the Sudden Valley Library raised the money and helped turn the old barn into a new library. Details: 360-305-3600.
