Carmichael's one-hit gem helps Bellingham beat LC

Bellingham's Charlie Carmichael pitched a one-hitter and the Red Raiders' offense jumped out to an early lead as they defeated Lynden Christian 11-0 on Monday, April 7, at Lynden Christian.

Carmichael pitched all seven innings, striking out eight and walking only two Lyncs.

"Charlie commanded the plate really well today," Lynden Christian coach Desi Luna said in a phone interview. "It was one of those days when you don't play defense, you don't hit and you do not play well at all."

Jamie Heystack had the only hit for Lynden Christian.

Oscar White was 2 for 4 with three runs scored for Bellingham.

Bellingham plays next at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, at Mount Baker. Lynden Christian plays its second of three games in three days at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at home against Anacortes.
