Rawls' big game carries Pioneers over Blaine


Nooksack Valley's Noah Rawls carried a no-hitter into the sixth before allowing three runs, but the Pioneers held on for the 5-3 win over Blaine on Monday, April 7, at Pipeline Fields.

"We just couldn't get the last couple of hits we needed," Blaine coach Sean Linville said in a phone interview. "They just kind of took it to us early in the game."

Rawls was also 2 for 4 on with a run scored and two RBI. Dalton Biehle was 1 for 2, scored two runs, had an RBI, walked twice and stole two bases.

Chris Doll went 1 for 2 with two RBI and a double for Blaine.

Nooksack Valley plays next at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, at home against Sedro-Woolley. Blaine's next game is at 4 p.m. Wendesday, April 9, at Burlington-Edison.
