Squalicum baseball rolls in win over Lynden

Squalicum's baseball team had its fifth errorless game of the season and the Storm beat Lynden 7-2 on Monday, April 7, at Lynden. Josh Holcomb was 4 for 4 with 2 runs, an RBI and two doubles for Squalicum.

Christian Jorgenson got the win, improving his record to 2-0, and David Stealy sealed it with a save for the Storm.

"Our pitchers were both juniors and they've pitched varsity for us before," Squalicum coach John Inge said in a phone interview. "It's not easy winning when you're young in this league, but now we are reaping the benefits of their experience."

Lynden's Jordan Wittenberg was 2 for 3 with two runs scored and a double. Lucas Peterson took the loss on the mound, and was 2 for 4 with a double on offense.

Squalicum hosts Friday Harbor at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at Joe Martin Field. Lynden takes on River Ridge at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at home.
