Sedro-Woolley shuts out Meridian

Meridian's baseball team couldn't capitalize on its scoring chances and lost 3-0 to Sedro-Woolley on Monday, April 7, at Meridian.

Derek Campfield took the loss for the Trojans, but pitched six innings without giving up a walk and struck out six Cubs.

"Derek kept us in the game," Meridian coach Steve Slesk said in a phone interview. "He's getting stronger and stronger with every start. We had some chances and couldn't do the little things to get a run or two across."

David Anderson was 1 for 2 for Meridian. Jake Plagerman and Dakota Jones were each 1 for 3.

Meridian's next game is against Lynden at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, at home.
