CONSERVATION: Estuary association holds annual meeting

The South Sound Estuary Association’s annual meeting will include a recognition of volunteers and guest speaker John Dodge of The Olympian.

The event will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Capital Museum Coach House, 211 21st Ave. SE., Olympia.

Dodge, the environmental writer for The Olympian, will give a presentation titled “Olympia’s Changing Shoreline. He will talk about the history of Olympia’s shoreline; dredging, fill and other modifications; and the consequences of these impacts. He also will look at the activities and changes happening on the shoreline, and whether there is room on the waterfront for a permanent home for the association and other maritime organizations.
