Natural Organics mouthwash recalled for possible contamination

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDApril 4, 2014

Natural Organics has recalled some containers of its Thursday Plantation tea tree mouthwash because they may be contaminated by a harmful bacteria.

The affected products were shipped nationwide to retail stores. It comes in a clear plastic bottle with green and white labeling. Look for the product code and lot number on the pack panel of the label. The affected bottles are Product No. 6710, Lot 9810.

This bacterial contaminant, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, could pose a health risk to consumers. While a health hazard is unlikely, the company voluntarily initiated the recall because Pseudomonas can cause serious illness in people with compromised immune systems.

See the recall notice from the Food and Drug Administration for more information.
