FRIDAY HARBOR 2, LYNDEN CHRISTIAN 1 Lynden’s Christian baseball team couldn’t pick up the win and lost to Friday Harbor 2-1 on Wednesday, April 2, at Friday Harbor.

Grant Wolffis struck out four on the mound while battling a back issue, LC coach Desi Luna said in a phone interview.

“He didn’t have his best stuff today, but he gave us a chance to win,” Luna said.

The Lyncs out-hit Friday Harbor 8-4, but couldn’t get the runners in when they were on.

“We didn’t have the big hit,” Luna said. “The hits were sporadic, we left a few runners on. … That’s the game of baseball. A lot of posi-tive things came out of the game today.”

Drake Likkel and Grant Wolffis each had two hits on the day.

LC plays Castle Rock on Thursday, April 3, at home.
