Sign up for Whatcom projects for National Volunteer Week

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDApril 2, 2014

The Volunteer Center of Whatcom County has lots of projects to choose from as the community marks National Volunteer Week on April 6-12.

Service projects across the county include weeding, pruning and other yard-related maintenance, distributing posters for Ski to Sea, spring cleaning, trail building, painting and helping with celebrations to honor volunteers.

Check out all of the projects and sign up online at whatcomvolunteer.org.

The center also is hosting an open house from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 4, so people can learn more about volunteer opportunities. Photos of local volunteers in action will be shown at the event at 301 W. Holly St., Bellingham.
