Steen and Wells are GNAC Female Track and Field Athletes of the Week

Western Washington University's Katelyn Steen and Lindsay Wells have been named Red Lion/Great Northwest Athletic Conference Female Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for March 23-29.

Steen, a junior from Sammamish, won the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Club Northwest Spring Break Open in the provisional national qualifying time of 10:54.78. Her time is nearly a half-minute faster than anyone else in the conference this spring.

Wells, a senior from Seattle, finished first in the CNW Open in the hammer, bettering her PNQ with a mark of 171-1. That also bettered her own school record and is 13 feet better than anyone else in the GNAC has thrown the implement this season.
