Explore downtown Bellingham's vibrant art scene at the monthly (and free) Downtown Art Walk between 6 and 10 p.m. Friday, April 4.

Talented artists, unique galleries, delicious restaurants and invigorating cultural experiences await attendees of the First Friday Art Walks.

Art Walk maps and lists of venues will be available at the participating venues, at the Downtown Visitor Center, 114 W. Magnolia St., Suite 105, and online at downtownbellingham.com.

Honey Salon, 310 W. Holly St., presents "Major Arcana," a new collection of double-size silkscreened prints by Jennifer Dranttel that explores and re-interprets the first 22 cards of the Tarot.

Dranttel's prints reinvent the traditional tarot with Pacific Northwest symbols and imagery.

"Major Arcana," a Nomad mobile pop-up shop, drinks, delights and PhDJ will accompany the artist reception on Friday, April 4. Details: 360-778-3858.

Other exhibits include works created almost entirely from recycled materials by nearly two dozen artists at Allied Arts Gallery, 1318 Cornwall Ave., an Sharon Kingston's abstract and atmospheric paintings paired with mid-century modern furnishings at 1418 N. State St., and a "decorated torso show" at Studio UFO in Bay Street Village, 301 Bay St.

THE FIRST SATURDAY DANCE PARTY FEATURES GRUPA DUNBAROV

Grupa Dunbarov, a folk dance band from Vancouver, B.C. will play for Fourth Corner Folk Dancers First Saturday Dance Party on Saturday, April 5, at the Fairhaven Branch Library, 1117 12th St.

Grupa Dunbarov particularly enjoys playing Bulgarian and Macedonian music and includes music from all the Balkans.

Dancing starts at 7:30 p.m. and ends at 10:30 p.m.

All ages are welcome; no partner or experience is necessary. A $15 donation is suggested.

1940S STAGE DOOR CANTEEN BENEFIT CONCERT, DANCE, AND AUCTION

Enjoy jazz with Greta Matassa and her Band, including Clipper Anderson on bass and Darin Clendenin on keyboards, at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, April 6, at the Ferndale Events Center, 5715 Barrett Road, presented by the Pacific Arts Association.

Come and swing to the great songs and sounds of the 1940s. Costumes are encouraged. There's a canteen buffet, bar, and great dance floor.

All proceeds benefit the Drayton Harbor Music Festival Camp.
