The dilemma: Whether it is an adults-only camping trip, or the kids are scurrying about, it is not uncommon for the camp lantern to get knocked over. That could mean short nights if you have no other illumination.

A solution: Rayovac has added a new product to its family of Virtually Indestructible Lights, the Virtually Indestructible Sportsman Lantern. The lantern has been tested to withstand drops of up to 15 feet, much higher than a tumble from the picnic table.

The details: The 400-lumen LED light can be placed into three light modes: high, medium or low. Running on three D batteries, this lantern has up to a 280-hour battery runtime. The lantern includes a shatterproof lens and reflector. The lantern stands almost 8.5 inches high and has a maximum diameter of 4 inches. It weighs 25.2 ounces without batteries.

Price: The suggested retail price is $29.99.

Availability: They are available at Sports Authority. To learn more, go to spectrumbrands.com.
