Mount Baker takes second on east side of state

Mount Baker's boys' golf team took second place at the Appletree Golf Course on Friday, March 28, in Yakima.

The Mountaineers took the trip to the east side of the state immediately following Thursday's Birger Solberg Invitational.

"We drove right after the tournament," Baker coach Chad Hoidal said in a phone interview. "It was a lot different environment and the guys handled it well."

Kenny Wilson took third with a 78, getting a chance to play with some of the top golfers in the state.

"He got to be able to perform with the best," Hoidal said. "It's the closest thing we can get to the state environment. They enjoyed it."
