Meridian's boys' soccer team allowed two early goals and fell to Sedro-Woolley 2-1 in a Northwest Conference match on Friday, March 28, at Meridian High School.

The Cubs scored in the second and eighth minutes to put the Trojans in the early hole.

"We made a couple mistakes early in the game," Meridian coach Joe Spencer said in a phone interview. "But we cleaned it up after that. ... We played pretty tough and we defended well."

Alan Eyoub followed up his hat trick against Nooksack Valley on Wednesday with a goal in the 34th minute.

"A little confidence goes a long way with a young kid," Spencer said. "He's a fun player. He likes to get after it. Today, he just took advantage of a bad pass and slotted it. It was a good goal."

Meridian gets 10 days off before playing Bellingham on Tuesday, April 8, at Northwest Soccer Park.
