Brian Henshaw named Bellingham finance director

BELLINGHAM - Brian Henshaw has been named city finance director, a post he has filled on an interim basis for the past seven months.

The City Council approved Mayor Kelli Linville's selection of Henshaw on Monday, March 24. The annual salary for the position is $131,508.

Henshaw has held various roles with the City Finance Department since April 2006, and was named deputy finance director in May 2013. He was appointed interim finance director last August, when former director John Carter took a job as chief financial officer for the Port of Everett.

Henshaw has a master's degree in finance from Western Washington University and a bachelor's in business and economics from the University of Puget Sound.

"I am very grateful to Brian and the whole Finance team for their work during this time of many changes, and for their professional financial services and stewardship of the City's resources," Mayor Kelli Linville said in a press release.
