Sehome's girls' tennis team controlled every match and defeated Ferndale 7-0 on Wednesday, March 26, at Sehome High School.

"From top to bottom, the kids played really strong today," Sehome coach Bonna Giller said in a phone interview. "I was impressed with their focus and poise."

The Mariners only dropped six of the 90 games played on Wednesday, showing the strength of the team.

"No matter who the opponent is, the kids are staying with their gameplan and executing," Giller said.

Lauren Smith (No. 2 singles) and Simone Hall (No. 4 singles) both won their matches 6-0, 6-0, and Giller said they lost very few points in those matches.

Sehome plays Burlington-Edison next on Friday, March 28, on the road. Ferndale gets two weeks off before facing Sedro-Woolley on Wednesday, April 9.
