Bellingham at the top of 'well-being' list

Bellingham is regularly landing on "best community" lists for a variety of topics this year, with the latest focused on health.

According to a report done by Gallup-Healthways, Bellingham ranked at the top of the small communities category in the Well-Being Index.

Also making the list was Yakima, coming in as ninth best in the U.S. The Seattle area ranked ninth in the large communities category.

The study used a variety of factors to determine the well-being of a community: Life evaluation, emotional health, work environment, physical health, healthy behavior and basic access to services.

Here's a (link) to the complete report, which is called the State of American Well-Being.
