Pioneers get big offensive day against Mount Baker

The Nooksack Valley softball team defeated Mount Baker 11-0 in five innings on Tuesday, March 25, at Nooksack Valley.

Kayla Struiksma and Alexis Pike combined to hold the Mountaineers to five hits and no runs over five innings.

"Mount Baker is a pretty scrappy hitting team," Nooksack Valley coach Tom Harmon said in a phone interview. "Our kids hung with them. ... They did a pretty good job hitting location."

Pike also added a three-run home run for the Pioneers. Olivia Berkan added two hits and an RBI, while Brianna Turner drove in three. Aleks Toivola and Jordan Miles both had two hits for Mount Baker.
