Blaine's boys' soccer team scored on themselves just before the end of the first half to cement a 2-1 loss to Burlington-Edison on Monday, March 24, at Burlington-Edison High School.

"There was a miscommunication at the back and it just went in," Blaine coach Giovanni Quesada said in a phone interview.

Burlington-Edison scored in the fifth minute, but Blaine's team started playing better and evened it up with a John Cochran goal in the 33rd minute.

"The kids started moving the ball," Quesada said. "It was the best game so far of the season. Burlington is an amazing team, they move the ball so well side to side. After 15, 20 minutes, my Blaine guys started playing well. Once we tie the game, we played more confident."
