ANACORTES 4, SQUALICUM 3

The Squalicum girls' tennis team suffered a 4-3 non-conference loss Monday, March 24, at Anacortes.

Lindsey Belsher earned a two set tiebreaker victory for the Storm at No. 2 singles and Sarah Byron won in two sets at No. 4 singles.

Squalicum's No. 1 doubles team of Kim Dorr and Rachell Dorr earned a 6-0, 6-3 win over Anacortes' Colleen Anderson and Stella Gilman.

"It was close against a good solid team," Squalicum coach Joe O'Brien said in a phone interview. "Real close matches and a couple tiebreakers there and it could have been a different score."

Squalicum tries to bounce back when it hosts Blaine at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, in non-conference play.
