Errors cost Ferndale softball in loss

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDMarch 24, 2014

The Ferndale softball team stayed close but some errors cost them the game in a 4-2 non-conference loss Monday, March 24, at Sedro-Woolley.

Lauren Maley (3-1) struck out six batters for the Golden Eagles and only allowed one earned run because of the three errors committed in the field by Ferndale.

"They were critical times and two times we had two outs," Ferndale coach Holly Hilton said in a phone interview. "We were alson not able to put the ball into play effectively."

The Golden Eagles host Oak Harbor on Wednesday, March 26, in non-conference play.
