As I drive down Alabama Hill, I often see people of all ages stopped on the pedestrian bridge to drink in the beauty of the panorama it offers (the other week there was even a snowman enjoying the view). As with so many of the positive changes that have taken place here, it met with stiff resistance at first, and now is becoming a proud icon of our city.
I am appreciative of city staff who have overseen so much of what is positive here. But to me, the clincher is the involvement of the thousands of citizens over the years who have given their time, talent, and/or money for the advancement of the arts, recreation, environment and other areas that have made Bellingham such a lovely place to live. Thank you.
