Parris scores two in Lions' big win

Lynden's boys' soccer team poured on the goals in a 5-2 win over Friday Harbor on Saturday, March 22, at Friday Harbor.

"We dominated the game," Lynden coach Drew Smiley said in a phone interview. "We were tired from the night before so it wasn't our best game, but we certainly filled the net. A back-to-back is tough, though."

Nicolas Parris scored two goals for the Lions. Rudy Mendoza, Daniel Hicks and Devin Gartner scored the other goals for Lynden. Gartner also had two assists in the game and was highlighted by Smiley as someone who really stood out.

"I think we had a great preseason," Smiley said. "Now, we have to prepare for our league campaign."

Lynden starts Northwest Conference play against Meridian on Monday, March 24.
