The Blaine softball team handed Squalicum a 14-1 loss in a non-league matchup on Friday, March 21, at Squalicum High School.

The Borderites jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but the Storm was able to hold Blaine to no runs over the second, third and fourth.

"It was pretty exciting for us," Squalicum coach Loran Zenonian said in a phone interview. "We just played defense, getting outs we should."

Blaine got six runs in the top of the fifth to end it early. Lexi Greguski went 2 for 4 with two RBI. Baylee Foster added a double and three RBI, as well, for the Borderites.

Both Blaine (0-1) and Squalicum (0-3) are back in action on Tuesday, March 25, with the Borderites playing Lynden Christian and the Storm traveling to play Bellingham.
