LYNDEN 1, LAKEWOOD 1

Lynden's boys' soccer team scored a goal in the 70th minute to tie with Lakewood 1-1 on Friday, March 21, at Lakewood.

A cross came in to Nicolas Parris who flicked it on to Carson Sandland, who found the net.

"We played really well," Lynden coach Drew Smiley said in a phone interview. "We're really starting to jell. We are so young and we played on a small field, but we played big. They're really starting to believe."

Lakewood's goal came off the foot of a Lynden player.

"It was a bumpy field," Smiley said. "So we definitely scored twice and then we had two goals called back."

Lynden plays Friday Harbor on Saturday, March 22, on the road.
